The Buszy Jam goes off: 20/2/2010

Saturday 20th Feb saw an amazing end to an intensely packed half-term of activity delivered by Make a Difference!

Skaters met at the Buszy Plaza for a day of battling out to some awesome tunes, Trashion sessions were held on bins outside the building using spray cans and stencils to make some sweet threads and the Grid City Cinema setup in the Buszy Shop to offer a free screening of the internationally acclaimed 'State of Mind' by the Zoo York Institute from New York, USA.

Over 200 young people were around during the day (& night) to take part in a range of activities provided by the MaD Crew. Young volunteers were also on hand to ensure everything went off and the other young people taking part had an awesome time.

Volunteers ran sessions in Trashion, customising t-shirts with stencil designs and spray cans. The volunteers also opened the Buszy Shop for the first time selling vintage clothes, DVDs, Games, Music and Mags. As the sun was setting on the first good weather day of the year, the Buszy shop was bathed in the glow of the Grid City Cinema screen, which gave young people the chance to catch another glimpse of ''State of Mind'' from the guys at the Zoo York Institute based in New York.

Make a Difference delivered a fun packed week of activity leading up to the Saturday night event, which included, Healthy Eating and Cookery Sessions, Sports tournaments, youth led magazine meetings, Drama and Theatre sessions, Trashion and Grafitti sessions and the Blank Canvas Urban Art Show (a first for MK) rocked up to the Central MK library where it will be housed until May.
